Your journey begins in Cairo with a guided tour of Giza’s iconic pyramids and the enigmatic Sphinx. Immerse yourself in the Egyptian Museum’s pharaonic antiquities and Old Cairo’s Coptic churches before boarding a flight to Aswan. This serene Nile city is known for its stunning river views and ancient temples. Aswan is Egypt’s main source of pink and black granite, highly prized for monuments and shrines—the pyramids of Giza among them. Take a tour of the Aswan High Dam, one of the world’s most expensive projects, where the temples of Philae and Abu Simbel (optional excursion) were relocated above the water line. Gain an insight into ancient architecture with a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, then board a Nile River ship to cruise towards the island of Kom Ombo. Explore the twin temples dedicated to the Egyptian gods Sobek, the crocodile god, and the falcon-headed Horus with your Egyptologist guide. Sail on to discover Edfu’s impressive Temple of Horus, then make a brief stop in Esna en route to Luxor. Walk along a sphinx-lined avenue where pharaohs once walked to enter the Temple of Karnak with its vast colonnaded halls and towering obelisk.

Disembark your Nile cruise to tour the Valley of the Kings, where centuries-old pharaohs rest eternally in a hand-painted afterlife. Visit tombs emblazoned with colorful hieroglyphic scenes, admire the terraces of Hatshepsut’s magnificent temple, and glimpse the famous Colossi of Memnon. Finally, return to the buzz of Cairo with ample time to dive into the chaos of the souk markets or snap a last photo with the Sphinx before your flight home.
